Hello! Welcome to my first food review on my blog! I don't usually get to try new foods; neither a food blogger too. So any chances of tasting new food is special for me and must be shared here on my blog to keep the memories. Okay, so for my first food review, we are going to take a look at Jollibee's newest addition to its pies—the Jollibee Buko Pie!
Jollibee is a very popular fast food chain in the Philippines with branches at almost every corner of the country. It is most known for its delicious Chicken Joy and jolly-looking bee wearing a chef hat and tuxedo. With its foods meant to satisfy the taste buds of Filipinos, it has won the hearts of every Filipino from all walks of like and of all ages. Even foreigners love Jollibee! If you didn't know, Jollibee is the Philippine version of the globally famous fast food chain McDonald's. Mcdonald's may reign supreme on other countries but never will it be in the Philippines, as it is impossible to trump over the jolliest and most hardworking bee on earth.
Okay, enough with the introduction. Aside from the Chicken Joy, one of Jollibee's all-time popular food is their Peach Mango Pie. Occasionally, they would introduce new pie flavors in addition to their classic peach mango pie. They have tried Tuna Pie, Choco Mallow Pie, Ube Pie—and recently, they introduced another flavor that will excite everyone for sure. Yup, it's the Buko Pie! Buko is young coconut, by the way.
We went to a mall yesterday to have my haircut and decided to eat our dinner there after. We were supposed to eat at Mang Inasal but there were too many people so we went to Jollibee instead. Upon seeing the menu, I saw this Buko Pie variant and ordered it in a heartbeat.
So let's take a look and appreciate its packaging first...
Yes! Green color for the buko color, and look at those simple yet cute illustration of young coconuts adorned with coconut leaves on the sides. Hmmm... doesn't it give it you, just by looking by it, a tropical vibe? Peach mango pie is my all-time favorite Jollibee food and I've witnessed how its size reduced litlle by little into half of its original size due to inflation. The traditional buko pie is also one of my favorites, and so, I am sure going to love Jollibee's Buko Pie. (Not to mention that Jollibee only brings the best foods to their menu!)
Since it's among their line of pies, the Buko Pie is made into a filling of the golden crunchy yet soft bread just like the peach mango pie. I also love the smell of Jollibee pies. Try it some time! Lol.
Jollibee uses real coconut for their pies and every bite feels like heaven. The filling is generous as well, so be careful of not pressing or gripping the pie too hard or the filling will spill out, and you don't want to waste a drop of this little piece of heaven! The pie itself is small but you'll surely bite in small sizes to savor its flavor.
Should you try Jollibee Buko Pie?
Definitely YES!! A must-try food in Jollibee! Plus, it's affordable for only Php 30.
The Jollibee Buko Pie was introduced last October and who knows if how long will this be available so try it while you still can!
It's been several years since I've eaten buko pie. Our favorite buko pie store closed down and we just can't find any other store that serves good buko pie on par to our favorite. Jollibee's buko pie isn't the same as the traditional buko pie but the taste is great just like a traditional pie.
